Originally from upstate New York, Ingrid received her undergraduate degree in journalism from the State University of New York at Albany, and then spent the next 15 years hopping around the country as a journalist before settling in Colorado in 2003. Though she hadn’t had pets as a child, Ingrid had always wanted a dog companion and had immediately adopted a yellow lab/shepherd mix named Niki when she graduated. Niki had accompanied her on all of her job moves and travels and taught Ingrid how complex, sweet and funny a furry child could be. She’s never been without pets since. So when the journalism industry faltered and Ingrid was faced with the task of reinventing herself outside of that field — animal care and veterinary medicine immediately came to mind.
Ingrid spent several years as a part of the animal care team at The Boulder Pet Nanny, getting to know and care for hundreds of quirky, beautiful pets; she has also worked in customer care at veterinary hospitals in the Boulder area. Ingrid is so excited to join the team at Left Hand Animal Hospital (and make it one of the few — and possibly only — veterinary hospitals in Colorado with two Ingrids on staff)!
Ingrid lives in Erie with her husband, Jeff; her dogs, Mocha and Coco; and Leica the cat. She’s an avid road cyclist and athlete, having completed eight Ride The Rockies tours, several multi-day bike tours and one Ironman triathlon. As a good Norwegian, she also loves to hike, travel and to eat chocolate. Lots of chocolate.
