Jess Johnson DVM

Jess was born and raised in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She completed both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at the University of California, Davis. After completing veterinary school, Jess moved to Colorado to complete an internship at Colorado State University. She now resides in Niwot with her husband, Scott, daughter, Rosie and their Golden Retriever, Barley. She is very much looking forward to joining the team at Left Hand Animal Hospital and can’t wait to be able to walk to work!

Jess’s special interests include pain management and improving quality of life in geriatric dogs and cats. Jess is certified in veterinary acupuncture and loves to see how much it can improve mobility and decrease pain in older patients. Her other interest is international and domestic veterinary volunteer work (she has done trips in Mexico, Nicaragua, Liberia, Denmark and several Native American reservations in North and South Dakota).

In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time in the beautiful Colorado outdoors with her family- especially hiking and horse riding. She can also be found treating farm animals in Boulder County and loves being involved in the local 4H community.
